The Team


Sue Hamilton
With 30 years physiotherapy and kinesiology experience, Sue has a long-standing passion for health, fitness and human movement. She is a BradCliff breathing practioner and has specialised in sports, medical and spinal issues and applies this knowledge, with clinical Pilates, in her approach to health and fitness. Sue runs every day on Petone beach with her spoodle - you may sometimes see him in the office at the studio.


Michelle Roberts
Michelle is your first point of contact at Bodyright. She arrived in 2006, bringing administration and diary-juggling skills as well as a big smile to the team. Michelle enjoys helping clients and instructors and is always up for a chat about rugby.

Hilary Morrissey
Health and fitness, strength, agility and sharing knowledge are important to Hilary. She is a registered nurse who has also worked for many years in the fitness industry. Hilary has a special interest in how we can maintain our bodies as we age and believes that every body can benefit from Pilates. Pilates is an important part of Hilary's life, she's keen to help you make it part of yours.

Andrea Scott
Andrea qualified at the Otago School of Physiotherapy in 1984. She has worked in hospitals, in private practice and as a team physio for senior rugby and soccer teams. Andrea was also a clinical tutor at the Victoria University Physiotherapy Clinic for Otago University between 1996 and 1998. Andrea brings a lot of life experience and interests to her work - she has three boys, is involved in sports coaching, competitive tennis and committees and has studied Maori culture, history and health.

Kate Shannon
With a background in dance and the fitness industry Kate certified as a pilates mat instructor through Physical Mind in 2003 and Polestar in 2005 and completed a Certificate in Fitness Management through Otago University in 2006. She is completing the Polestar Studio certification and spends time researching and following new fitness developments overseas. Kate is passionate about teaching and loves seeing the physical and psychological benefits that pilates brings to her clients' lives.

Kate Graham
Kate's passion for pilates began in 2001 when she was recovering from a back injury. This motivated her to do Polestar Studio Pilates training and she started teaching at Bodyright. Kate is a certified Pink Pilates therapist, working with women recovering from breast cancer. She is also a certified Nordic Walking instructor. Kate is interested in women's health and nutrition. When she's not working she's often to be found her in her garden.

Carolyn Thompson
Carolyn graduated from Massey University as a personal trainer, and has 15 years experience in the industry, including teaching swiss ball classes. She qualified as a pilates mat instructor with The Physical Mind Institute in 2007 and continued her training on the apparatus at Bodyright. Carolyn has taught dance, including hip-hop, and is a competitive horse rider. Her special interest is rehabilitation and helping those with back, shoulder or neck pain.

Morice Crandall
Morice is a licensed GYROKINESIS® trainer and offers classes in this inspiring exercise method at Bodyright. She is also an apprentice pilates instructor, currently studying and learning from Sue and the rest of the Bodyright team. Morice has a degree in psychology and management and her former life was in the corporate world so she understands the challenges and stresses this puts on people physically and emotionally. She says that making time to exercise and look after yourself is key to survival.

Arlene Mallo
Arlene has a special interest in pilates for fitness. She has a Diploma in Exercise Science, many years experience in the fitness industry and has trained in pilates at Bodyright. Arlene works with clients one-on-one and also teaches a range of classes. She says that as more people spend their lives in front of computer screens they need something like pilates to avoid aches and pains. Arlene loves walking and running in the bush.
