Why Pilates

Changes to Your Body

By ten classes you should be seeing a change in your body - even if it's just that you are standing straighter than you've done in years. Continued classes will prove that bodies do actually change shape with Pilates. By stretching and firming the muscle groups, it develops a look that can most accurately be described as sleek. By then, Pilates at Body Right will have become an integral -part of your life.

"You will feel better in 10 sessions, look better in 20 sessions ,and have a completely new body in 30 sessions."
Joseph H. Pilates.

The Difference between Pilates and Other Forms of Exercise

Instead of performing many repetitions of an exercise, Joseph Pilates preferred fewer, more precise movements. The focus is on strengthening the body's "core muscles": the abdomen; the lower back and the buttocks, therefore enabling your body to move more freely, creating long, lean, strong muscles and improved joint flexibility.

Pilates is based on individual instruction to ensure correct muscle activation and movement patterns. Although the equipment is different to that found in a gym, there are a few standard pieces of very versatile equipment. We also perform many exercises without equipment, which helps the body learn to stabilise itself.

After experiencing a Pilates session you will be aware of muscles you never knew you had.

By concentrating on proper alignment, correct breathing and smoothness of motion, you will get in touch with your body and finish your session feeling relaxed and revitalised.
